One Up! is the party game for people who like to steal.

First off, are you recalcitrant and cool? Competitive, social and smart? But larcenous at heart? One Up! makes a virtue of a vice that's also incredibly addictive: taking things that don't belong to you.

How we came up with the idea.

We always loved playing Scrabble, and our baby son would sit in my lap and watch. He would very quickly get bored, start fidgeting, and then eventually fall asleep in my arms before we ran out of time and didn't even finish. Which I think is a pretty apt metaphor, isn't it?

Seriously, before he conked out he would always succeed at least once in taking one of my tiles and trying to eat it.

Light bulb moment: no board, no complicated rules, 20 minutes of fast-paced action, and stealing is the name of the game.
