Product Description - PPE107 Magnetic Force

Parco Scientific “PPE107” High School - Physics Curriculum - Electricity Experiment. Electric magnetic force comparison experiment. Using the compass, measure the strength of the magnetic field and how it changes according to the number of coils, and how the voltage changes according to the number of batteries.

Objective: Investigate how connecting different solenoids (each with a different amount of wire coiled inside) will affect the magnetic field produced. You can also observe how using different amounts of batteries can affect the amount of electrical current produced. When the current increases, the magnetic field is strengthened. This is shown by the angle of deflection of the magnetic needle in the compass. A bar magnet is included to insert in the solenoid to amplify the magnetic field, so as to make it more easily detected by the magnetic needle.

APPARATUS: 3 hollow solenoids: ɸ15m/m 150circles, ɸ30m/m 150 circles, ɸ15m/m 300 circles, 3 battery holders, 1 small compass, 1 bar magnet, attached with 1 set of wires and plugs.
